The LoLa Winter Fine Arts Exhibition
Over two weekends in late winter, LoLa invites its member artists to select a few pieces to exhibit at neighborhood arts venue Squirrel Haus Arts, offering the public a chance to view a sampling of art created in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis. An opening reception on the first Saturday brings artists and other members of the community out of hibernation to mingle, talk about art and the weather, and enjoy refreshments.
It’s usually the last weekend in February and the first weekend in March at Squirrel Haus Arts, 3450 Snelling Ave., Minneapolis. The first Winter FAE launched in 2018, with two more annual recurrences, then was suspended in 2021, 2022 and 2023 because of COVID and other situations. LoLa resumed this tradition in 2024.
Participating artists live and/or work in Longfellow, or are past LoLa participants. By limiting the number of pieces each artist may enter, the object of the exhibition is to include as many LoLa artists as wish to participate.
Artwork may be for sale at the discretion of the artists, who set their prices and receive all proceeds from any sales. Exhibited works typically span a wide variety of media and styles, including drawing and painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, mosaics, and sculpture.
