Lauren Flynn – Site 8

Flynn is an artist based in south Minneapolis. In ceramics, she finds a medium in which she can investigate color, line and form simultaneously, all within the round, unfolding necessity of a cup. Drawing on her background as a painter, she uses pigmented slip, cobalt oxide, and glaze on stoneware and B Clay. Current inspirations include riffs on cursive handwriting, novelas in translation, and her children’s drawings of clouds and snails.
